      ? Rites held for Fred Shores, 77, town assessor. Fred L. Shores, 77, Town of King, former town assessor for many years, died on about 6:45 p. m. last Wednesday in Sacred Heart hospital after a four months? illness. Mr. Shores was a retired farmer and woodsman. He was born May 26, 1887 in Crystal Falls, Michigan, to John and Nettie Roberts Shores and was married on to Frances Nibler December 30, 1913 in Tomahawk. His wife survives. Other survivors are four daugh-ters, Mrs. Walter (Ruth) Kaylor, Spring Valley, California, Mrs. Cleo (Ruby) Fish, Tomahawk, Mrs. Jerry (Josephine) Norris, Hustler, Wis-consin, and Mrs. Arthur (Isabel) Wakkinen, Brantwood, a son, Roy, Madison, and 19 grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two infant sons. Services were in 1:30 p. m. Saturday in the William Nick funeral home with the Reverend Lewis Retan officiating. Burial was in Greenwood ceme-tery. Pallbearers were Cleo Fish, Jerry Norris, Arthur Wakkinen, Jerry Wakkinen, Raymond Paulson and Walter Krueger. Attending the rites from out of the city were Mrs. Walter Kaylor, Spring Valley, Califor-nia, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Shores and family, Mr. and Mrs. Roth and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bohne, Madison, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Norris and family, Hustler, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Wakkinen and family, Brantwood, Raymond Paulson, Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. Walter Krueger, Merrill, Paul Schmidtbauer, Clear, Alaska, Frank Schmidtbauer and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ferge, Wausau, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Snail, McFarland, and Mr. and Mrs. Gus Kluxdall, Land o? Lakes.
