Notes - thur George Betz, 83, of 52366 Hollyhock, died at 10:30 a.m. today in the Morningside Nursing Home after a long illness. He formerly was the custodian of the First Church of Christ Scientist. Born Dec 22 1890, in Adrian, Mich., he had lived here since 1931 coming from Tiffin, Ohio. On Feb. 28, 1908, in Adrian he married Alta W. Warner who died in 1969. Surviving are three sons: Donald F. of South Bend; Arthur J. of Tiffin; and, Lynn W. of San Francisco; four daughters: Mrs. Warren Lewis of Mansfield, Ohio; Mrs. Chester Harmon of Freemont, Ohio; and, Mrs. John Wensits of Mishawaka, 16 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the Welsheimer North Chapel, 52803 U.S. 31 N. William Shaul, former reader of the First Church of Christ Scientist, will officiate. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Betz was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist and the Mother Church of Boston.
